HRISTINA
BELEVA
was born in 1983 in Aytos.
She began at an early age
her musical training on
accordion and gadulka (a
traditional Bulgarian
string-bow instrument
resembling a fiddle). In
2002 she finished her
secondary education with
specialty Gadulka at the
National school of folklore
arts “Philip Koutev’ in the
city of Kotel. Hristina
specialized in the
department of Instrumental
arts with gadulka of the
Academy of music, dance and
fine arts, Plovdiv. After
that she graduated in
Musical pedagogy from Sofia
University “St. Kliment
Ohridski”. In 2004 she
became part of the Folklore
ensemble “Trakia”, Plovdiv.
Since 2006 Ms. Beleva has
been playing soloist at the
orchestra of National
folklore ensemble “Philip
Koutev”, Sofia, and since
2008 has been part of group
“Bulgara”.
Hristina has won:
• The Special prize for high
artistic achievements in the
field of performing folklore
on the Creative competitive
meeting of the National high
schools in 2002, Pleven.
• An award on the National
gadulka players competition
“Yanko Petrov” in 2003.
She plays in the oratorio
“Melancholic beauty” of
Georgi Andreev.

PETAR
MILANOV
was born in 1977 in
Kyustendil. At the age of
six he began his musical
trainings in his hometown
with studying of musical
theory and tambura
(mandolin). Five years later
he moved to the village of
Shiroka luka where he joined
the Children’s musical
school. In 1991-1996 Petar
studied at the Music High
School for traditional
instruments and singing at
the same village. He has
worked for the National
folklore ensemble “Philip
Kutev” since 2002. The
musician participates in the
projects: “Trio”, “Faith”
and “Folk project” of
Theodosii Spassov, in the
spectatcles “The Legend” and
“Crossroads”, as well as in
the oratorio “Melancholic
beauty” of the same
composer.
